Dr. Gillian BatesThe special Lieberman Award was granted to Dr. Gillian Bates, Guy's Hospital, London, for her project entitled "Transgenic approaches toward an understanding of the molecular basis of Huntington's disease."

 

 Dr. Mark Becher, Johns Hopkins University, for "Intranuclear neuronal inclusions: a novel marker of Huntington's disease."

Dr. Patrik Brundin, University of Lund, for "Cell death mechanisms in striatal neurons expressing the Huntington's disease gene."

Dr. Marian DiFiglia, Massachusetts General Hospital for "The role of huntingtin in clathrin-mediated endocytosis"

Dr. Philippe Djian, CEREMOD, for "Huntington's disease and transglutaminase-catalyzed cross-linking."

Dr. Shawn D. Handran, (PDF), Massachusetts General Hospital, for "In Vivo Interactions of huntingtin using FRET."

Dr. Parsa Kazemi-Esfarjani, (PDF), California Institute of Technology, for "Searching for modifiers of polyglutamine toxicity using genetic analysis in drosophila."
